Instead, her friend suggests they pledge themselves as a couple before God or a higher power instead, here and now, rather than through some official ceremony. Clasping their hands together and closing their eyes, they romantically exchange vows, mirroring those of an actual marriage. They laugh at the incongruity of this pledge taking place in somebody else's home they've broken into, but celebrate with a wedding kiss.
